INDOOR CYCLING:  

Fairly self-explanatory! You will be “fitted” onto your indoor cycling bike by a trained indoor cycling instructor. Cycling classes are a 50-55 minute high energy, heart pumping, music filled dance party.  Instructors are there to motivate you to perform at YOUR very best.  Rides will include races, intervals, drills, themed and rhythm riding.  Each bike is fitted with a monitor to provide you with real-time performance tracking as well as both SPD clips AND cages to allow you to either “clip in” or ride with sneakers. 

 

KETTLEBELL:

Originating in Russia; a kettlebell is a powerful tool that looks like a cannon ball with a handle.  This class will combine strength training, flexibility and cardio to deliver a full body work out.  You’ll learn the basic kettlebell movements and begin working towards the full progression or advanced moves.  Kettlebell has been one of my favorites for YEARS!!

 

BARRE:

We work on Barres set to adult ballet height that is secured to interior walls.  Barre is a mix of flexibility, stability and strength training.  You will build long, lean muscle with ballet inspired movements.  Define and strengthen with a workout that targets your arms, shoulders, abs, hips, booty, and thighs.  You do NOT have to be a ballerina to enjoy this class; leave the ballet shoes behind!

 

TABATA:

One of my favorites! A calorie torching muscle building class of a mix of cardio and body weight/strength training tools.  Tabata is a high intensity interval training routine that gets your heart rate up while working through short periods of time.  The Tabata structure is work hard for twenty seconds followed by a ten second recovery, repeated a total of eight times. 

 

CORE AND MORE:

Core class is designed with the belly in mind.  Don’t fear we cover all other muscle groups but the design of the class is that midsection remains in constant use or connection.  During these belly busting sessions there might be an emphasis on your buns and guns!

 

BOOTCAMP CIRCUIT:

You get to play with all the toys in the gym!! This class is a great way to introduce you to equipment that you might fear or haven’t worked on.  You will work two by two for a period of one minute on a variety of cardio/strength/balance/suspension equipment moving as quickly as possible through each exercise.  At the end of those exercises you will receive a break and repeat from the top.  We should be able to sweat through our battleground at least 3-4 times.

 

WEIGHTS:

Suns out guns out! Weight class will build strength; add definition, increase bone density and decrease body fat by increasing lean muscle.  Use a variety of weight training equipment to change the body – no muscles left behind!

SPIN CIRCUIT:

Whoa spin and weights combined!! Yes you guessed it.  You will note class time is extended to 1:15 -1:30 minutes.  This class is designed to combine cardio and weights in HIIT inspired class.  So think 10 minutes on the indoor cycling bike followed by ten minutes of weight training on the floor and repeat.  The reason class time is longer than most is that there is transition between the bike and the floor.  That “transition time” adds to the length of class.  You are NOT working for 1 ½ hours!!  This is the BEST of both worlds!! You are able to get cardio in weights for a FULL body workout!

 

DIRTY “30”:

The TRIFECTA!! 30 minutes of Spin; 30 minutes of Weight Training; 30 minutes of Cardio Kickboxing! You can stay for 1, 2 or all 3 classes.

K.EY Health and Fitness finally put Matamoras on the Map...this is a great fitness facility with top-of-the-line equipment and certified INSPIRATIONAL and ENCOURAGING instructors. Everyone is very welcoming - different versions are shown and adapting to all abilities. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them and everyone should give them a try. They offer classes 7 days a week from Spin to Piloxing to Weights to Core to Kettlebell to Step and many more classes - check them out, you won't regret it! Thanks to all the instructors for making me believe in myself and pushing to the highest limit I didn't know was possible!
